ARTIST STATEMENT

Lee interprets the color, form, texture, and value of the observed surroundings into varied application in oil to each subject. He uses a variety of brushwork to express his observations in the application of the medium. To be one with the brush, the paint, and the support allows him to transfer the observations and inner aesthetic vision into the work of art. Depicting subjects from a realistic approach or fracturing the subject into geometric-like forms altering the figure/ground relationship.
